3 City Employees Arrested Following Early Morning Confrontation With Police
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Three New York City employees were arrested following an early morning confrontation with police in Washington Heights.
Police said the incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday outside the 809 Bar and Grill on Dykman Street.
The ordeal apparently began when an officer approached corrections employee Kelvin Lorenzo, who was allegedly carrying open alcohol outside, 1010 WINS reported.
There was some kind of confrontation that led to 30-year-old New York City teacher Nicole Lucien to allegedly jump on the officer's back and attempt to choke him with a lanyard, police said.
Another woman, Krismeli Cuilan, who works in the NYPD's Communications Department, allegedly pushed a sergeant who was also on the scene.
The officer was treated for minor neck injuries, police said.
All three suspects knew each other and were placed behind bars at the 34th Precinct.
Police said while being held, Lorenzo allegedly punched another cellmate.
He is charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
Lucien has been charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct.
Cuilan was charged with obstructing governmental administration.
