It will now be illegal for a business to be open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Supervisor Kate Murray says residents complained about their quality of life.
"In the dead of night, we don't want to have businesses where congregating people occur, where noise occurs as a result of those congregations of people. It's just about preserving the suburban quality of life," Murray told WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall.
Murray says this will affect new businesses opening up in the town. They must be closed between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. and this does not affect existing stores and restaurants.
Businesses planning to open in industrial areas can apply for a variance to open 24/7.
