2011 New York International Auto Show Starts Friday At Javits Center
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - For auto enthusiasts looking for the newest, hottest vehicles and craziest concept cars, the Javits Center is the place to be starting this weekend.
The New York International Auto Show runs from April 22 to May 1 at the Manhattan convention center.

With talk of gasoline possibly going over $5 a gallon this summer, the buzz at this year's auto show is all about fuel efficiency.
"We now not only have hybrids, but we have plug-in hybrids, we have clean diesels, and we have electric cars," auto show director Candida Romanelli said. "So, there's really something for everyone and every price range."

"I really like the Honda CR-Z, which is a sport hybrid. The Nissan Leaf is very cool," said Mark Scott of autotrader.com.
Scott said he expects electrics to be more of a curiosity than a reality, however, for most attendees.
"We just did a survey that shows 62 percent of our shoppers are now saying they will consider a more fuel efficient vehicle," he says.
Even luxury brand Mercedes-Benz is going downscale. Chief Executive Ernest Lee unveiled the A-Class hatchback.
"There is a willingness, an openess more in the American consumer today, to look at smaller cars," he said.
There is also a new, redesigned Volkswagen Beetle. Italian automaker Fiat is even getting back in the game, rolling out its new mini convertible
