2 Sentenced In Camden Double Slaying
CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) -- Two Camden men have received state prison terms for their roles in a 2007 double slaying in the southern New Jersey city.
Authorities say 29-year-old Jason Rodriguez and 32-year-old Christopher Figueroa killed the pair so they could keep $22,000 in drug money the four had agreed to split.
Figueroa and the victims -- 20-year-old Jesse Hernandez and 21-year-old Alfredo Martinez -- were traveling in Hernandez's car when Figueroa shot them in the head at close range. After the vehicle flipped over, Figueroa escaped and got in a car driven by Rodriguez, and they fled with the money.
Figueroa was sentenced Friday to 25 years for aggravated manslaughter, while Rodriguez got a seven-year term for robbery and weapons offenses.
