2 Injured In Crash With New Jersey Transit Train
OCEAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Two people were injured Friday when the pickup truck they were in collided with a New Jersey Transit train in Ocean Township.
No one aboard the New York City-bound train was injured in the crash, however, details on what caused the accident remain under investigation.
Twenty-four people were aboard the train, which had departed from Bay Head shortly before the accident occurred, the Asbury Park Press reported. All the passengers were removed from the train and transported to another location by bus.
The driver, 47-year old DonnaMari Acquaro, suffered a broken leg. Her passenger, 55-year-old Ricardo Melendez of Keansburg, was treated for chest pains.
Acquaro was charged with careless driving and interfering with transportation.
