2-Day Benefit To Be Held For Family Impacted By Fatal Yonkers Crash
YONKERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - A benefit is planned for a family devastated by a fatal car crash outside a Yonkers carnival last month.
As WCBS 880's Sean Adams reported, there's a tremendous amount of love and affection for the Gill family in Yonkers.
Witnesses said an out-of-control Jeep ran over two of the Gill sisters on Oct. 11, killing 15-year-old Kalie. Her 12-year-old sister Lindsey remains hospitalized.

Two others were also injured in the crash at the Yonkers Fair at Coyne Park.
The Gill family said at that time they did not blame the driver, a teacher volunteering at the carnival.
The Gills have no medical insurance.
Relative Oliver Charles, a butcher on McLean Avenue, is putting together a two-day fundraising event.
"They're doing as best they can. It's a horrible situation, how they deal with it, it's just hard. No magic words, I wish there was but there isn't," Charles told Adams. "She is improving. They moved her up to a new rehab center up in Valhalla."
A benefit concert is set for 7 p.m. on Dec. 13 at Saint Barnabas High School chapel in the Bronx. On Dec. 15, a fundraiser with live entertainment, raffles and auctions will be held at Rory Dolan's Bar and Restaurant in Yonkers.
Lindsey Gill will need extensive rehab for her injuries.
The goal is to raise enough to cover the hospital bills and rehab and start a college fund, Adams reported.
