2 Charged With Stealing Gifts After Party

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) -- Two Long Island men have been arrested on charges that they stole Christmas gifts from a Central Islip home after attending a party.

The Brentwood men were arrested early Christmas Day. Police say a 17-year-old youth and a 21-year-old man were arrested after breaking through the home's back door and stealing gifts.

Suffolk County police say the family that staged the party realized the gifts were missing and went to the suspects' home after the party's disc jockey said they were the last to leave.

Police said the family called police after spotting gift wrapping paper outside the pair's house. The suspects were charged with second-degree burglary and were scheduled to appear in court Sunday.
