2 Charged With Murder In Superintendent's Death
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Authorities say they have arrested and charged two men with murder in connection with the death of a 58-year-old Park Slope building superintendent.
Police say 21-year-old Deevan Jagnarine and his friend 19-year-old Alex Gobardhan, both of Queens, were arrested Wednesday and charged with robbery and criminal possession of stolen property in addition to the murder charge.
On Tuesday, police found Ramnarain Matadin around 1:30 a.m. in Ozone Park with trauma to the back of his head.
EMS took Matadin to Jamaica Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Matadin had been drinking at his favorite bar, but the bar tender called a car service when he noticed that the man had too much to drink, 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria reports.
Police say Jagnarine – the driver of the livery cab – and Gobardhan took the man to Arion Road.
Gobardhan allegedly punched Matadin in the back of the head, stole his valuables – including a wallet, cell phone and bracelet -- and threw him out of the van.
