2 Boys Struck By Speeding Car In Brooklyn Hit-And-Run
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two 12-year-old Brooklyn boys had to be rushed to the hospital Tuesday night after their bicycle was struck by a speeding car in Gravesend.
Authorities said the boys were riding on the same bike -- one pedaling, the other standing on the pegs -- around 10 p.m. That's when police said they were rear-ended by one of two cars either racing to beat a street light or racing each other at the intersection of Avenue S and 4th Street.
Paul Gamal, who lives in a corner house, heard the arriving ambulances and ran outside to see what happened.

"One of the kids was like...he was down. I saw him moving a little bit and the other one looked okay," he told 1010 WINS' Juliet Papa.
There was no sign of the car that did the damage. Gamal believes a car part fell into the street. Police said two cars had been traveling eastbound on Avenue S, which is a two-way street.
One boy, who fell by the street light was sitting up and the other was still on the ground.
"At first he was just lying there from what I saw and then I saw him moving around and trying to like resist, like he didn't know what was going on," Gamal said.
One boy was listed in critical condition, while the other sustained leg injuries. Police are still looking for the driver of the vehicle that struck the pair.
