15 Injured After MTA Bus Collides With Two Cars In The Bronx

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Fifteen people were injured Tuesday afternoon after an MTA bus collided with a livery cab and a sports car in the Bronx.

The incident happened in the Morrisania section around 2:30 p.m. when a Bx55 bus, moving southbound on Third Avenue, made an unscheduled stop. The bus struck both the livery and sports car at the intersection with 170th Street.

Sylvia Perez told 1010 WINS' Al Jones that she was watching her grandchildren at a nearby park, when she witnessed the accident.

"It was an accident and the only thing I heard was a 'boom,'" she said.

Perez said that people came stumbling off the bus as people on the street came rushing to help.

EMS Deputy Chief Howard Sickles said all 15 injured people were taken to the hospital. However, none of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
