11 People Hospitalized After Apartment Fire In Glen Cove
GLEN COVE, NY (CBSNewYork / AP) - From outside of an apartment building on Glen Street in Glen Cove there doesn't appear to be much damage.

But you could still smell the smoke in the air from a fire that broke out in an apartment at about 12:25 a.m. Friday. Six apartments were damaged, leaving dozens of people without a place to live.
Eleven people were rushed to the hospital for smoke inhalation, including two firefighters, one of whom suffered a burn to his elbow, officials said.
Witnesses said people were jumping from the second story window to escape the flames.
Rafael Calisto owns the pizza shop which was one of the four businesses damaged.
He said his son lived in one of the apartments.
"He was the first one to call the police," Calisto said, adding that his son helped people escape.
At least five volunteer fire departments helped douse the flames.
The American Red Cross was at the scene and said nearly all residents of the apartment building were permitted to return to their homes.
Authorities say the fire is not considered suspicious and it likely started from a malfunctioning stove.
