Man Charged With Hate Crime In Alleged Assault Of V. Stiviano
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Long Island man was charged Tuesday with assault as a hate crime, among other counts, in connection with the alleged assault of V. Stiviano outside a New York City hotel.
Dominick Dorio, 40, of Old Bethpage, was charged with third-degree assault as a hate crime, assault, harassment, and aggravated harassment, the NYPD confirmed.

The man surrendered to police on Tuesday, authorities told CNN. A second person is still being sought, police told 1010 WINS.
As WCBS 880's Alex Silverman reported, law enforcement sources said Stiviano made the identification in a lineup at the Sixth Precinct police station. She was spotted there sporting a white visor over dark sunglasses.
Stiviano, who allegedly recorded Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling making racist remarks, told detectives Monday that two men assaulted her outside the Gansevoort Hotel in the Meatpacking District Sunday night.
Stiviano said there was an exchange of words and she was punched in the side of the face, police said. Authorities said they're investigating the possibility the men used racial slurs during the attack. Stiviano is of black and Mexican descent.
"Detectives from the Hate Crime Unit of the NYPD interviewed her and are investigating the matter," said Stiviano's attorney, Mac Nehoray.
Nehoray said her face was red and swollen after the attack.
So far, police have not identified the suspects, but said they may be charged with a hate crime, 1010 WINS reported.
Commissioner Adam Silver banned Sterling for life from the NBA and fined him $2.5 million after the release of a recording. Former Microsoft chief executive officer Steve Ballmer has agreed to buy the Clippers for $2 billion.
