$1 Million Powerball Ticket Sold In New Jersey Set To Expire
TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Powerball ticket worth $1 million that was sold at a North Bergen convenience store last year will soon expire.
The ticket for the Sept. 18, 2013 drawing was bought at the Convenience Express store on River Road. The winning numbers were 7, 10, 22, 32 and 35 and the Red Powerball Number was 19.
If the ticket holder doesn't claim their prize by Sept. 18, the ticket will expire.
"Everyone plays the lottery to win so when there is an unclaimed winning New Jersey Lottery ticket we need to notify the public," stated Carole Hedinger, N.J. Lottery Executive Director.
Customers at one New Jersey store were thinking back trying to remember if they had bought a ticket and forgotten about it.
"No I do no thave the $1-million ticket. I wish I had the $1-million ticket," North Bergen resident Rob Lewis told CBS 2's Christine Sloan.
One mother of two was certain that the ticket wasn't hers, but that didn't stop her 5-year-old from dreaming.
"I wanted to have toys, like planes, and cars, and everything I like to have," Josh Reines said.
Lottery officials strongly recommend that the ticket holder sign the back of the ticket and immediately contact them.
