WSJ editorial criticizes Donald Trump for "politics of pique"
The right-leaning editorial board of The Wall Street Journal criticized Donald Trump's "politics of pique" in an editorial published late Tuesday.
"This politics of personal grievance may be the businessman's biggest obstacle to the White House," the board says in the editorial.
"Mr. Trump needs to convince millions of skeptical voters that he's more than an impulsive bully who poses too big a risk in the Oval Office," it adds.
If he wants to win in November, the editorial says that Trump's challenge is persuading Republicans who think he's "too crude and thuggish" that he can build a political majority.
It mentions examples of Trump attacking New Mexico's GOP governor, Susana Martinez, a Hispanic American and when he said that Gonzalo Curiel, the federal judge overseeing the lawsuits alleging fraud by Trump University, is Mexican. Curiel is from Indiana.
"Mr. Trump may have the thinnest skin in politics," it says. "His demand for obeisance is alienating more people than it attracts."
