Woman sought in connection with 6 jewelry store robberies
NEW YORK --The FBI is searching for a woman believed to be responsible for at least six robberies of jewelry stores since April 2014, and a man allegedly seen during at least three of those robberies.
The agency say each robbery -- at stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee -- has followed a similar pattern.
The woman, estimated to be in her 20s or 30s and about 130 pounds, allegedly pulls out a gun and directs employees to go to the back of the store, where she uses zip ties to bind their hands.
Surveillance video shows the woman than using employee keys to lock the front door and open display cases, before putting valuables in a bag.
The man, estimated to be in his 30s or 40s and about 250 pounds, was seen in three of the robberies, in one case removing a door stop and shutting the front door.
Investigators say a different vehicle was used to flee after each robbery.
