Witness captures terror of shootings inside Canadian Parliament
OTTAWA, Ontario - A gunman shot and killed a Canadian soldier standing guard at a war memorial in the country's capital Wednesday, then entered Parliament, where law enforcement officials engaged in a shootout.
Someone was there to capture the incident for The Globe and Mail newspaper, in the video seen above.
Witnesses say the gunman fled inside the Parliament building after the soldier was shot, and police reported the gunman was himself shot and killed there.
In the video, a group of officers can be seen cautiously walking down a main hallway of the Parliament building.
A single shot rings out, and officials then proceed down the hallway. A few seconds later, a volley of gunfire is heard.
