Wilson Phillips Releases First Christmas Album

Wilson Phillips, one of the best-selling pop groups of all-time, is commemorating Christmas on an album for the first time as it rings in a milestone -- its 20th anniversary.

Besides its successful track record, the multi-platinum pop trio (made up of Carnie Wilson, Wendy Wilson and Chynna Phillips) hails from rock 'n' roll royalty -- they are the daughters of both Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys and the Mamas and the Papas' John Phillips.

Wilson Phillips, who reunited this past October, stopped by "The Early Show on Saturday Morning"'s "Second Cup Cafe" to perform "Silent Night" and "I Wish It Could Be Christmas" from their first Christmas album, "Christmas In Harmony."

The 13-track album features harmonious versions of "Little Drummer Boy" and "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day." The CD closes with an a cappella number written and arranged by Brian Wilson (Carnie and Wendy's father and one-time leader of the Beach Boys) titled "Our Prayer."

What has Wilson Phillips been up over the past two decades?

The trio split and reunited a couple of times and hasn't released an album since 2004's "California." "Christmas in Harmony" marks its fourth studio album as a trio in the last 20 years.

Wendy, Carnie and Chynna are all proud mothers, as well -- the three have a total of nine children.

Wendy Wilson, who lives in Los Angeles with her husband, has four young boys, Leo, 7, Beau, 6, and twins, Will and Jesse, 3. Carnie Wilson, who lives with her musician-composer husband Rob Bonfiglio, has two daughters, Lola, 5 and Luci, 10 months. Chynna Phillips, who resides in Santa Barbara, Calif. with her husband, actor Billy Baldwin, has three children: Jameson, 10 Vance, 8, and Brooke, 6.

Known for its '90s hits like "Hold On" and "Release Me," Wilson Phillips burst upon the music scene in 1990 with its self-titled debut album. It was on fire: Not only did it reach number two on the United States album charts, it produced five top twelve singles, three of which reached No. 1.
