Will Gingrich's surge in the polls last?
CBS News political director John Dickerson was joined on our webshow Hotsheet Live on Friday by the National Journal Mark Ambinder, Politico's Jonathan Martin, and Time's Michael Scherer for a discussion on Republican candidate Newt Gingrich's sudden rise in the polls.
"Newt has come back from the dead," Martin said.
"He knows how to appeal to conservative voters. He knows particularly how to trigger that anti-elitism instinct that really gels and energizes and really gathers the energy of conservatives," Ambinder said.
"Newt's going to have to leave this sort of reality show world that he is in," Scherer added. "He's going to have to show that he has a campaign, show that he can raise money, show that he can actually be a politician again. Not just this leadership speaker who does well on tv."
