Whitney Houston's posthumous single debuts
Whitney Houston left behind some unreleased material, and now fans can hear one of the songs she recorded before her death in February.
The song "Never Give Up," which will appear on the upcoming posthumous greatest hits album, has surfaced online. A lyric video for the uplifting, hip hop-inspired track debuted this week.
Houston sings: "Never, never give up/Hold your head to the sky, look them right in the eyes/Tell them you will never quit until the day you get it right."
Jermaine Dupri produced the song, which was recorded for Houston's 2009 "I Look to You" album, but never made the cut. The track will now appear on "I Will Always Love You: The Best of Whitney Houston," out on Nov. 13. The best-of collection also features "So Emotional," "I Will Always Love You," "Greatest Love of All" and other hits.
To coincide with the album's release, CBS will air the recently-taped "We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston" special on Nov. 16 with appearances by Jennifer Hudson, Britney Spears and Halle Berry.
