What's on the Thanksgiving menu at the White House?
President Obama and the first family will enjoy a Thanksgiving feast on Thursday with no fewer than six pies for dessert.
The White House Thanksgiving Dinner menu includes:
Thyme roasted turkey, garlic jus and cranberry-orange relish, honey-baked ham with apricot-mustard glaze, prime rib and creamed horseradish, cornbread stuffing with chorizo and roasted peppers oyster stuffing, braised winter greens (collards, kale, and turnip greens), macaroni and cheese, sweet potato gratin, yukon gold mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, fresh greens, and kale caesar salad.
Dessert includes:
Banana cream pie, coconut cream pie, pumpkin pie, apple pie, pecan pie, and cherry pie.
Before dinner, President Obama called U.S. troops stationed around the world.
A day earlier, the first family served Thanksgiving Dinner at Friendship Place, an organization dedicated to serving the local homeless population. Mr. Obama served turkey and gravy, while his older daughter Malia stood next to him and served mashed and sweet potatoes. First Lady Michelle Obama served vegetables, and younger daugther Sasha served cranberries and stuffing.
