ORLANDO, Fla. (CBS/AP) After numerous failed attempts to avoid a prison jumpsuit, "U.S. Marshals" actor Wesley Snipes has been ordered by the real U.S. Marshals to report to jail to begin his three-year sentence for tax evasion.

Snipes has been appealing his 2008 tax conviction ever since then. Now, the "White Men Can't Jump" star has been told to surrender at the Federal Correctional Institution in Lewis Run, Pa. by noon on Dec. 9.

E! News reports that if the 48-year-old actor fails to show up by said time and date, he faces the possibility of a warrant for his arrest.

According to The New York Daily News, the order came after a Florida judge denied Snipes' bid to remain free on bail while he appeals the tax verdict.  His lawyers say they're preparing to take Snipes' case to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The "Blade" star was convicted in 2008 on three misdemeanor counts for willfully failing to file federal tax returns from 1999-2001. During the three-year period, Snipes cheated the government out of $7 million, says The Daily News.

If Snipes chooses not to surrender, perhaps he could simply flee to Canada like Randy and Evi Quaid, who say they are seeking refuge from so-called "Hollywood Star Whackers."
