Watch: Umpire ejects deejay at baseball game

Umpires can be a temperamental bunch. We've seen them eject managers, players, fans - and even mascots.

But booting the "music guy" who plays tunes to entertain fans at the stadium? That's exactly what happened during a recent Daytona Cubs game.

Watch as home plate umpire Mario Seneca is not too amused when a version of "Three Blind Mice" comes through the PA system between innings. After realizing the song is likely a musical indictment of his umpiring abilities, he immediately ejects the culprit (Cubs "music man" Derek Dye) and issues a rare baseball ultimatum: no music or sound for the rest of the game.

"Turn the sound off for the rest of the night," Seneca is heard yelling.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Dye, a University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign student who moonlights as the deejay for the Chicago Cubs single-A affiliate, told MiLB.com that he was surprised by the ump's reaction.

"I didn't think he'd get angry. I just started laughing," Dye said. "I was shocked. Disbelief."
