Watch: NACSAR's Kurt Busch threatens reporter for asking "stupid questions"

(CBS News) Last month Kurt Busch was fined $50,000 by NASCAR for reckless driving on pit road at Darlington and a post-race altercation with another driver's crew members.

It's a good thing he was also put on probation because otherwise, he says he just might have beaten up a reporter on Saturday at Dover International Speedway.

It happened right after the Nationwide Series won by Joey Logano. Busch finished fourth and Justin Allgaier fifth, and they exchanged words on pit road after the race. Busch said Allgaier thought he hit him early in the 200-mile race.

After the race, Sporting News reporter Bob Pockrass asked Busch about the incident in light of his current probation.

Busch responded: "It (the probation) refrains me from beating the (expletive) out of you right now, because you ask me stupid questions. But since I'm on probation, I suppose that that's improper to say as well."

This is nothing new for the mercurial Busch, who in addition to his recent NASCAR sanctions, was voted one of the most disliked athletes in the U.S., according to a Forbes magazine study.

NASCAR said it is considering further disciplining Busch for his tirade, ESPN.com reported.

"We are in the process of collecting all the facts and details surrounding the incident to assist us in making a correct and fair decision," NASCAR spokesperson Kristi King said in a statement.
