Watch: LeBron cajoled in Spain, mocked in Ohio

LeBron James can't seem to escape his critics - whether it's at a Spanish swimming pool or on an American football field.

The Miami Heat superstar was in Barcelona recently and somehow ended up on the high dive at a pool.

The crowd, spurred by a bilingual emcee, clapped and encouraged him to "Jump, LeBron!"

But the 2-time NBA MVP had cold feet, peering over the board and pondering the wisdom of taking the leap. Despite plenty of cajoling and chanting (in English and Spanish) from a guy with a microphone and the crowd at the pool, James froze.

Finally, after a few excruciating minutes, James took the plunge - not earning many cheers from the crowd - or style points for his dead-weight fall into the water.

A few days before LeBron's pool cred was taking a hit in Spain, he was being mocked by an NFL wide receiver 3,000 miles away.

Lions' wide receiver Nate Burleson zinged the Cleveland crowd last week when he scored a touchdown and then mimicked the chalk toss that James made famous with the Cavaliers.

"It was a LeBron thing," Burleson told the Detroit Free Press. "I wasn't going to do it. See, I had a plan. I had two celebrations planned. I was going to catch the ball, get up, do the shot by (Michael) Jordan (against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1989 NBA playoffs) and the three pumps. I've got it all down. I've seen it like a million times.

"But then when I got in the end zone, I was waiting for the ref, and then when I looked at the crowd, the Dawg Pound went crazy. They were cussing me out, talking about my momma, so I was like forget that. Where's the powder at. Voom."
