Watch: Joe Frazier defeats Muhammad Ali in '71

(CBS) - Looking back on a career of legendary matches, it's hard to pick one moment and call it Joe Frazier's finest hour. Frazier was an Olympic gold medalist, heavyweight champion, and Hall of Famer. But his most memorable fights are certainly the great Frazier-Ali bouts of the 1970s. The first match between the two legends took place at Madison Square Garden in 1971, when Frazier handed Muhammad Ali his first professional loss in what was called "The Fight of the Century." Watch the final round - including Smokin' Joe knocking down Ali - above.

Frazier, who died Monday night after a brief battle with liver cancer at the age of 67, will forever be linked to Ali. But no one in boxing would ever dream of anointing Ali as The Greatest unless he, too, was linked to Smokin' Joe.
