Watch: College baseball player delivers blatant cheap shot, suspended

On March 29, in a dramatic Arizona college baseball game, the Scottsdale Community College Artichokes rallied from a 6-0 deficit to beat the Yavapai College Roughriders 10-8. The Roughriders' website summed up the team's dismal collapse like this: "Yavapai closed out the game with a whimper."

If by "whimper," they mean a cheap shot bordering on assault, then the recap is accurate. Check out the video above. According to the Daily Courier, that's Yavapai's Austin O'Such steamrolling the Scottsdale baserunner from the blind side.

The incident spawned a Facebook campaign calling on O'Such to be banned from the league. It worked. On Saturday, the offending player was suspended for violating the "ideals of good sportsmanship and fair play," according to the Yavapai website.

We are only left to wonder if former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has secretly taken a job with the Roughriders and implemented his bounty system there.
