Viola Davis is adopting a baby

(CBS) Viola Davis and her husband, actor Julius Tennon, are in the process of adopting a child.

The Oscar-nominee shared the baby news while walking the red carpet at the premiere of her film "The Help" on Tuesday.

"We're about to adopt a baby," Davis, 46, told E! News, adding that the child will be adopted "domestically."

This will be the first child for the couple, who married in 2003. Tennon has two children from previous relationships.
