(CBS) Viola Davis revealed in August that she and husband Julian Tennon were adopting a baby, but it was her "The Help" co-star Octavia Spencer that broke the news that Davis has officially become a mom.

Spencer reportedly spilled the beans during a speech at Elle's Women in Hollywood tribute on Monday night, at which Davis was an honoree.

According to People magazine, Davis, 46, confirmed the news in her own speech, adding that the baby boy is named Genesis.

This is the first child for the couple. Tennon has two children from a previous relationship.
