NEW YORK (CBS/AP) Vince Vaughn landed in Chicago on Saturday, but it wasn't via a commercial flight or private plane.

The actor and his mother, Sharon, skydived at the Chicago Air and Water Show.

Vaughn said it was "crazy" to see his hometown's buildings from a height of 12,500 feet.

The jump was performed with the U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights during the Chicago Air and Water Show on Saturday.

Vaughn was clad in a bright yellow jumpsuit as he landed on his feet at North Avenue Beach.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the "Wedding Crashers" star wasn't feeling well on the plane due to the high altitude, but was smiling after he landed. He also signed autographs and posed for pictures with fans.

"That was the first time for the both of us," Vaughn said afterward, according to the report. "That's not exactly our hobby."

When asked whether mother or son was more nervous, Sharon said, "We weren't nervous - we were more excited."
