Video: NHL star flattens kid, reporter unfazed

There's really only one reasonable question a person might ask after watching this video of Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews accidentally flattening a small child at a hockey camp in Canada.

Is the kid ok?

But the child's well-being seems to be of no concern to Lance Brown of CTV Sports. Indeed, Brown offers a more philosophical, perhaps more Canadian, take on the kid being Zamboni'd by a professional athlete on the ice.

"One youngster wound up learning to keep his head up at all times," he says over footage of the tyke getting steamrolled by the 6'2" 210-pound Toews.

Ok, lesson learned. But is the kid alright?

Brown assures us that yes, the kid - the 23-year-old Toews, that is - was not seriously hurt by the defenseless 80-pound youngster.

Brown ends the segment with this callous, perhaps tongue-in-Canadian-cheek, injury report: "Despite this big hit, Toews should be OK to attend camp that begins in 10 days."

Phew.
