Verizon to Sell iPads--Is the iPhone Coming Soon?

Apple

AT&T is no longer the exclusive carrier for Apple's wireless products. Verizon has been tapped to carry the iPad starting October 28 in its stores. This move may presage the launch of the iPhone for Verizon's network early next year. AT&T stores will also begin carrying the iPad and accessories at the end of October.

Verizon's iPad offering is similar to what AT&T provides. The 16GB Wi-Fi iPad bundled with the MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot is priced at $629.99. A 32GB Wi-Fi iPad with MiFi is $729.99, and the 64GB Wi-Fi iPad with MiFi is $829.99. Verizon's MiFi no contract data plan will offer 1GB of data for $20 per month. Verizon will also sell three Wi-Fi only versions of the iPad.

Apple's shares hit a milestone Wednesday, topping $300 for the first time, spurred to financial heights by iPad sales and planned expansion of its product lines in China. The Verizon relationship could bring a boost to mobile device sales, further boosting Apple's stock value.
