U.S. sprinter: Usain Bolt is on "another planet"
(CBS/AP) Usain Bolt's 19.32-second 200-meter sprint crushed the hopes of U.S. runner Wallace Spearmon, who missed the podium, finishing in fourth place after running the 200 in 19.90 seconds.
"The guy is just on another planet right now," Spearmon said between sobs of disappointment.
"I'm going to go home and work harder. I'm sorry I let you down," Spearmon says. "You have good days, you have bad days and you have those days. It wasn't the best day and it wasn't the worst. It just wasn't my day."
Bolt led a Jamaican sweep, with his training partner and friend Yohan Blake, who got the silver in 19.44 seconds and Warren Weir, who took bronze in 19.84 seconds.
The 25-year-old Bolt became the only man with two Olympic titles in the 200-meter event. He also won gold in the 100-meter on Sunday, duplicating the 100-200 double he produced at the Beijing Games four years ago.
Bolt's stated goal heading to London was to become a "living legend," and, well, he's making a pretty good case for himself.
When asked if Bolt is the best ever? Spearmon was sobbing: "I just can't answer that right now. I'm sorry."
