U.S.-Born Radical Cleric: "Either Them or Us"
A U.S.-born radical Yemeni cleric has called for the killing of Americans in a new video message posted on extremist Muslim websites.
Anwar al-Awlaki says Americans are from the "party of devils" and so don't require any special religious permission to kill.
In the 23 minute Arabic language message appearing on extremist websites Monday, Awlaki said it was "either them or us."
Awlaki is believed to be hiding somewhere in Yemen and has been linked with several attacks on Americans in the past year, including an attempt to bomb an airliner in Detroit on Christmas.

Watch: Awlaki's May Video Attacking America
This is not the first video in which Awlaki has called for the killing of Americans. In May of this year, he released another al Qaeda-produced video praising his "student," U.S. Army Maj. Nidal Hassan, for the Fort Hood shootings last year.
Earlier this month, Youtube, bending to pressure from the U.S. and British governments, removed his sermons from their website because of their "incitement to commit violent acts."
Awlaki emerged as a key player in the war on terror last year after a string of attempted attacks on US soil all seemed to point to him as the mastermind, landing him on the Most Wanted list of terror suspects. The U.S. has a standing "capture or kill without trial" order against him, the first-ever made against a U.S. citizen. Awlaki was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, to Yemeni immigrants, and holds citizenship in both countries.
In response to the recent string of mail bomb attempts, Yemen put Awlaki on trial in absentia Tuesday, accusing him and two other men with plotting to kill foreigners and of being members of al Qaeda. Awlaki is believed to be in hiding somewhere in rural Yemen.
It was the first formal legal action by Yemen against Awlaki, and came as the country faces heavy pressure to crack down on the terror network.
