Uncle Sam is Waiting... Last Minute PC Tax Help
There's still time to file your tax returns, but not much. It doesn't make writing checks less painful, but using your PC can make the job easier. The two best selling tax preparation software packages are TurboTax from Intuit and Kiplinger TaxCut from Block Financial. Intuit product manager Todd Stanley
"There are several big advantages to doing your taxes on a computer. The first one is accuracy and we know from talking to the IRS, they publish statistics about different types of returns, is that about twenty percent of returns that are prepared the old fashioned way using pencil and paper have some sort of mathematical error in them. And that number goes down to one percent for tax returns that are filed electronically using tax software. The other reason why people turn to tax software is that we walk you through your taxes using a step by step interview."
You can find TurboTax or TaxCut for thirty dollars or less. And if you wait until the night before the deadline and the software store is closed
"You can go out to our Web site at TurboTax.com and you can prepare your taxes entirely online."
