Tyler Perry gets "Kathy Griffin Award" on "South Park"

"South Park" parodies the recent Comedy Central Awards in its May 4 episode. Comedy Central

(CBS) Last night's episode of "South Park," titled "Funnybot," chose to satire its own genre: comedy. More specifically, the recent Comedy Awards.

South Park Elementary presented Tyler Perry with the "Kathy Griffin Award," which is given to the person who is most likely to actually show up to receive the Kathy Griffin Award.

The cast continued to poke fun at Perry's ubiquity by showing the only African-American character, Token Black, slipping him money for every time he said "hallelujer."

"Funnybot," carried on in typical "South Park" fashion with its subplot of angry Germans invading South Park Elementary for being named the least funny people in the world.

The end of "Funnybot" even included an acknowledgment of Osama bin Laden's death, which only broke out on Sunday night. With less than 72 hours notice, co-creator Trey Parker included a scene of President Obama addressing the nation from the Oval Office about the imminent end of the world.
