Tyler Colvin Video: Cubs Player Struck By Broken Bat

Caught on Tape: A freak accident sent Chicago Cubs outfielder Tyler Colvin to the hospital on Sunday.

A sharp piece of a broken bat hit him while he was running from third base. The shard made a small hole in his chest, just inches from his heart.

Colvin was able to score before being rushed to the hospital where a chest tube was inserted to prevent a collapsed lung.

He was listed in stable condition.
