(CBS) NEW YORK - Two men were injured, one critically, when an unknown person tossed a shopping cart off the third story of a mall parking garage outside a Home Depot in the Bronx on Monday, reports CBS New York.

The incident is eerily similar to another in October when two 12-year-old boys dropped a shopping cart off a parking deck outside a Harlem Target store, striking a woman. The victim, Marion Hedges, 47, suffered severe brain damage and now faces a long rehabilitation process.

Both boys pleaded guilty to assault. They will likely not face jail time.

Meanwhile, police have not released the names of the two victims of the latest incident. They say the man most seriously injured was 52-years-old while his friend who is listed in stable condition was 30.

Investigators are now going through surveillance video to try and determine who is responsible for tossing the cart on Monday.
