Two dead, one student injured, in murder-suicide near Salisbury University
(CBS/AP) SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury police say they are investigating a murder-suicide that left two men dead and one female Salisbury University student seriously injured, according to CBS Baltimore.
The shootings occurred at around 6 p.m. Tuesday at a home in a Salisbury neighborhood where many students live. Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis reportedly said Ryan Shallue, 21, fatally shot Charles Abbott, 19, wounded Kristen Loetz, 20, then turned the gun on himself.
The shooter was pronounced dead at the scene while Abbot was pronounced dead at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Loetz remains in critical but stable condition at Shock Trauma, according to the station.
Authorities reportedly said Shallue was Loetz' former boyfriend, that the two got into an argument, and when Abbot intervened, Shalluer shot both of them and then himself.
Lewis calls the incident a "domestic dispute," according to CBS Baltimore.
Police reportedly said that there are no continuing threats to others in the campus community.
Classes at Salisbury University began two weeks ago.
