Two Daft Punk covers before the Music Round-Up

(CBS News) While I've seriously pondered the idea of turning The Feed into an all-Daft Punk-all-the-time blog for some time now since their new release, I sadly can't make that into a reality. (Yet.) And with the legendary group highlighted quite a few times these past few weeks, it seems unfair to keep featuring them in the Weekend Music Round-Up. Which is why the solution is clear: a separate post dedicated to two great covers of their work! Up first, watch the band San Cisco give "Get Lucky" their own unique flavor above. The song kicks in at about 1:15 into the clip.

The live performance incorporating the interesting addition of bongos in a way that really works occurred recently on Australian radio station Triple J's show "Like A Version." (Clever name for a show that focuses on covers.) And I have to applaud this very romantic and soulful performance of the now-legendary song. Well-played, San Cisco! (Enjoy my witty double entendre there?)

Up next, we've got the same song (because you all know and love it so well) performed in a way that speaks to my Southern roots. Check out Charles Butler give "Get Lucky" a bit of "pluck" below with an instrument you wouldn't expect could pull the cover off: a banjo! (Spoiler: it totally does!)
