Two Americans arrested in Tokyo after Irish exchange student's death
(CBS/AP) TOKYO - Police say two Americans are being questioned in the death of a 21-year-old Irish exchange student's death in a Tokyo hotel.
Various media reports identified the woman as Nicola Furlong.
Police officials said Monday that Furlong had been strangled. Japanese media reports say Furlong, her friend and the Americans met at a Nicki Minaj concert Thursday in Tokyo.
Police arrested 23-year-old dancer James Jamari Blackston and a 19-year-old musician on suspicion of sexually molesting the victim's female friend in a taxi to the hotel. The younger suspect was not named because he is a minor under Japanese law.
According to the Irish Independent, a spokesperson for Tokyo Metropolitan Police says the two men allegedly touched Furlong's friend inappropriately while she was in a comatose state from a highly alcoholic beverage.
Police are also questioning the men about the student's death. The police officials spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity, citing policy.
