Two accused killers who escaped from Ark. jail are recaptured
(CBS/AP) TEXARKANA, ARK. -- Two men suspected in separate homicides who escaped from the Miller County jail in Arkansas earlier this week have been captured in Texarkana, authorities say.
Cortez Hooper and Quincy Stewart were taken into custody Thursday evening. Miller County Sheriff's spokeswoman Vanessa Schaeffer said several agencies arrested the men without incident.
Officials say the pair used a hacksaw to cut through bars on a second-floor window and then went under a 10-foot-high razor-wire fence to get free on Monday.
Court records show Hooper faces a first-degree murder charge and a weapons count. Stewart is accused in a killing in Texas, but he hasn't been formally charged because he was being held in Arkansas on a drug offense.
