Trump, Clinton have most Facebook interactions

Donald Trump had the most interactions on Facebook for Oct. 9 through Nov. 8, according to data the social media platform released ahead of the fourth GOP presidential debate Tuesday.

Trump had nearly 57 million interactions and Ben Carson had nearly 30 million interactions on Facebook. "Interactions" are defined on Facebook as likes, shares, comments and posts.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Sen. Marco Rubio, Florida, and Sen. Rand Paul, Kentucky, received between 5.5 and 5.9 million Facebook interactions each.

Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, had the most interactions of any candidate from both parties with 69.3 million interactions. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, received 41.1 million interactions. Between Sept. 10 and Oct. 10, Trump generated the most interactions of any of the candidates -- 18 million people generated 76 million interactions about him across the U.S.

Facebook said the top five most talked about issues on its platform were government ethics, the economy, government assistance, religion and guns.

The GOP presidential candidates will face off in the fourth Republican debate Tuesday night in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

CBS News will host the next Democratic presidential debate on Saturday.
