"True Blood" star Rutina Wesley files for divorce

Rutina Wesley, who plays Tara on HBO's vampire drama "True Blood," is putting an end to her marriage.

The actress, 34, filed for divorce from actor Jacob Fishel on Aug. 16, People reports.

According to documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Wesley cited irreconcilable differences and asked that Fishel be denied any spousal support. The pair, who wed in 2005 and have no children together, reportedly separated in July.

Wesley and Fishel met when they were both students at The Julliard School in New York.

Back in 2010, Wesley gushed about her husband and former classmate to Essence magazine: "We were in the same class at Julliard. We thought, 'If we could spend four years together at this crazy school, then we can make it the rest of our lives.' He's an amazing actor, cook and husband. I enjoy him immensely."
