Tropical Storm Dorian forms in eastern Atlantic
MIAMIDorian, the fourth named Tropical Storm of the 2013 hurricane season, formed in the Atlantic Wednesday morning.
At 10:30 a.m., the center of Dorian was located about 410 miles west-southwest of the Cape Verde Islands, CBS affiliate WFOR in Miami reports. The storm had maximum sustained winds of 50 mph as it moved toward the west-northwest near 21 mph.
The system is expected to continue to move towards the west-northwest throughout the day and could possibly continue gaining strength throughout the day.
As Dorian moves over cooler waters Thursday, the storm may then gradually weaken.
There are no watches or warnings in effect for this storm at this time.
