Tony Award 2012 nominations: Snubs and surprises
(CBS News) Tony Award nominations were announced Tuesday and along with the list of its star-studded nominees, came a list of those who were expected to receive nominations and didn't.
Alan Rickman, Rachel Griffths, Angela Lansbury, Matthew Broderick, Samuel L. Jackson, Hugh Dancy and Blair Underwood, were among some of the actors who were expected to nab nominations.

"Clybourne Park," the Pulitzer-Prize winning play about race and real estate, received a nomination for best play, but failed to sweep the Tony nominations as predicted - walking away with just three top nominations.
The revival of Tennessee Williams' "A Streetcar Named Desire," starring Underwood, was also overlooked, receiving just one nomination in the costume category.
Actresses Griffiths and Elaine Paige, who both received great reviews for their roles in "Other Desert Cities" and "Follies" respectively, were also left off the list.
Pop-singer Ricky Martin failed to earn a nomination for his performance in "Evita." Martin earned mixed reviews for his portrayal of Che in the revival.
Bono and The Edge also didn't get any love from Tony voters for the music and lyrics for "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark."
The musical "Once," which was originally a low-budget movie, earned the most nominations this year with 11, including a nod for best musical.
