Tom Brady can’t beat Donald Trump at golf, says Lewandowski
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady may be the greatest of all time on the gridiron, but according to former Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, the four-time Super Bowl champion has some work to do at making his golf game great again.
“Tom Brady, for all of his athletic achievements, cannot beat Donald Trump at golf,” says Lewandowski, adding that Brady would back him up on that surprising claim. “That’s a true story.”
Lewandowski, who appeared on CBS News’ “The Takeout” podcast with CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett, then suggested we check out a recent Golf Digest article that he said praises Trump’s prowess on the links.
“Donald Trump is going to be the greatest golfer as the president by far that the country’s ever seen,” Lewandowski said, exaggerating the magazine’s article just a tad.
What Golf Digest recently reported on was how Trump’s unorthodox swing actually works for him. “He does the most important things right,” the story says. (“For me, it’s all about the hips,” Trump told Golf Digest’s Jaime Diaz. “Just get them out of the way as fast and as hard as I can and let the arms really swing through). It detailed his “confident” golfing, pointing out his consistently good scores. “As a golfer, the 45th president is the real deal,” the article concluded.
