Tobey Maguire In Swing Of "Spider-Man 3"

The first two Spider-Man films set opening weekend box office records, and the latest isn't expected to disappoint.

In fact, the betting is that "Spider-Man 3" will wind up as the summer season's first blockbuster.

It opened at midnight.

Tobey Maguire stars again, suiting up as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, this time fighting three villains, including his best friend, Harry.

But on The Early Show Friday, Maguire agreed with co-anchor Harry Smith's assessment that, "The biggest villain you fight in this movie … is your own ego."

"Yeah," Maguire concurred. "It's my inner-struggle. Peter Parker's ego gets inflated, and he has real anger, and desire for vengeance."

He told Smith he planned to attend one of the film's opening showings in a theater, anonymously, "of course." .)

"There's nothing like just sitting in an audience with fans, and feeling their experience," Macguire said.

Asked if three would be a wrap for Spiderman flicks, Macguire said there'd definitely be more of them, though there's no guarantee he'd return.

He also discussed his real-life, first-time fatherhood.
