Tim Ryan
Tim Ryan joined the CBS Network in 1977. He has called play-by-play for NCAA men's basketball since 1982.
Ryan served as a play-by-play announcer for CBS Sports' coverage of college football (1996-97), the host of the U.S. Open Tennis Championships (1987-94), was the lead blow-by-blow announcer for boxing since 1977, a play-by-play announcer for alpine skiing at the 1992, 1994 and 1998 Olympic Winter Games on CBS and also called NBA and NFL broadcasts for the CBS Network.
Ryan joined NBC Sports in 1972 and covered the NHL, NFL, tennis and boxing. He was news co-anchor and sportscaster for WPIX-TV in New York, where he received the Sam Taub Award from Boxing Writers Association of America for excellence in boxing broadcast journalism.
Ryan is a 1960 cum laude graduate of Notre Dame. Born May 16, 1939, Ryan lives in Ketchum, Idaho. He has four children.
