Tilikum Gets 2 SeaWorld Killer Whales Pregnant

A pair of killer whales at SeaWorld Orlando has become pregnant by the killer whale which killed a trainer earlier this year, reports CBS station WFOR.

SeaWorld says Taima, a 20-year-old orca, will give birth to her fourth calf later this month or in early June. Katina, a 32-year-old orca, is expected to have her sixth calf in late October.

The father of their calves is Tilikum, who snatched 40-year-old trainer Dawn Brancheau from a poolside platform by her hair and dragged her underwater to her death on February 24th. Tilikum is one of three breeding males in SeaWorld's corporate collection. The company has one at each of its marine parks.

The births would push the number of orcas at SeaWorld Orlando to 10.
