"The Voice": Battle rounds come to an end
After three weeks, battle rounds on NBC's "The Voice" came to an end on Tuesday night.
The last battle included duels for members of Team Christina, Team Blake and Team Cee Lo, and a surprise steal.
Adriana Louise vs. Jordan Pruitt for Team Christina
Adriana Louise, a waitress from Brooklyn, battled former Disney Channel vet Jordan Pruitt singing Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold." The two evenly matched singers put on a show. CeeLo Green called their performance "one of the best battles we've had," comparing it to the Olympics. Blake Shelton and Adam Levine said they felt like Pruitt won, but Christina Aguilera sided with Green, choosing Louise as the winner, saying "I connected with you from go." None of the coaches who were eligible to steal Pruitt had any steals left, so she was sent home.
Kelly Crapa vs. Michaela Paige for Team Blake
Kelly Crapa, the 15-year-old country singer, and Michaela Paige, the 16-year-old punk rocker, sang Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself for Loving You." Ultimately for Shelton, it was the one year in age that made a difference in confidence. He decided to go with Paige, who he said "had a little bit more of an edge."
Avery Wilson vs. Chevonne for Team Cee Lo
For the last performance of the night, Avery Wilson, the dancer-turned-singer, battled Lady Gaga backup singer Chevonne. The two sang David Guetta and Sia's "Titanium." Levine and Shelton both felt Wilson won the battle "hands down." Green decided to go with Wilson, but Aguilera swooped in for the steal. Aguilera said she felt Chevonne's stage presence was great.
Now, each coach has 10 team members, which will be narrowed down during knockout rounds next week. In the knockout rounds, contestants will go head-to-head without knowing who their opponents will be until they perform.
